About Me

I have always been an artist. Ignoring the first iterations of artistry, I spent 10 years becoming a multinstrumentalist. Then, I found photography which was a huge breath of fresh air. It was a form of art that was interesting to me because it was an art of subtraction rather than an art of addition. With music, drawing, dance, writing, etc., you are starting from nothing and adding to an empty canvas. With photography, you start with a scene and have to break it down and get rid of the distracting elements to have the same type of distilled intention.

I got a brief formal education in photography, but I knew pretty quickly that I loved the significance and being able to capture the emotions of a wedding day. I ultimately decided that learning from other photographers was the better route for me personally. So, I traveled around and learned from other wedding photographers.

Other than photography, music still plays a huge part in my life. I also love to cook, travel with my second half, and watch Wes Anderson films with the pups. I find that staying out of your comfort zone is such an important part of personal growth. So, I’m always experimenting and adventuring.

Nearly a decade after starting my journey as a photographer, I am still finding things to love and learning new things daily.
